2. Definitions
2.1. From DSG-EKD

This data privacy statement uses the terms employed in the DSG-EKD legislative text. Please visit www.kirchenrecht-ekd.de/ document/41335? or other contexts for the respective definitions (§. 4 DSG-EKD).

2.2. Cookies

Cookies are text files from a website that are stored on or read out at your terminal. They contain letter and number combinations, in order to, for example, recognise users and their settings when reconnecting to the website that has set the cookies, to enable the user to remain logged in to a customer account, or to statistically analyse a certain usage behaviour.

3. General Information on Data Processing

We process personal data only to the extent permitted by law. Personal data will only be passed on in the cases described below (see 4. below).
The personal data will be deleted or protected by technical and organisational measures (e.g. pseudonymisation, encryption) as soon as the purpose of processing no longer applies. This equally applies when a prescribed storage period expires, unless further storage of the personal data is required to conclude or execute a contract. Unless we are legally obliged to store data for a longer period or to pass it on to third parties (in particular to law enforcement agencies), the decision as to which personal data we collect, how long it is stored and to what extent you may need to disclose it, depends on which functions of the website you are using in each individual case.

4. Data Processing in Connection with the Use of the Website

The use of the website and its functions regularly requires the processing of certain personal data.

4.1. Informational Use of the Website

If you visit our website purely for information purposes, i.e. without using additional functions such as the contact form, personal data is automatically collected by us. This applies to the following details: the type and version of the browser you are using (so-called user agent), the operating system used, the address of the previously visited website (“referrer URL”), the IP address of your terminal and the time of accessing the website. This information is transmitted by your browser unless you have configured it in a way to suppress the transmission of such information. In addition, your IP address is communicated to third parties whose functions on our website are called up by their servers.
This personal data is processed for the purpose of the functionality and optimisation of the website, as well as to ensure the security of our information technology systems. This serves to observe our tasks and, at the same time, represents a church interest, which is why processing is permitted under § 6 para. 3 and 4 DSG-EKD.
Personal data is stored for a period of four weeks. We do not merge this personal data with other data sources. Data will only be passed on to third parties to the extent necessary for the operation of our website. Transfer to a third country or to an international organisation is not intended.

4.2. YouTube

Parts of our website use the services of YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”) to display video content. When you access the relevant pages, your browser loads the code necessary to display the video from YouTube. For this purpose, the browser you are using must connect to the YouTube servers. As a result, YouTube is informed that our website has been accessed via your IP address. At the same time, YouTube can store cookies on your terminal, unless you have prohibited the use of cookies in your browser, or read cookies.
The YouTube plugin is used for the purpose of providing an attractive website design and to enable the display of video content. This represents a church interest in terms of § 6 para. 4 DSG-EKD. Data transmission to the USA is realised in accordance with the EU Commission Implementing Decision (EU) 2016/1250 (EU-US privacy shield). Your IP address is collected by us to enable transmission to YouTube. While you are not obliged to provide this personal data, you will not be able to use the respective sections of our website without providing such data.
If you do not want YouTube to associate the personal information collected through our website with your YouTube account, you must log out of YouTube before visiting our website. For more information about YouTube, please visit www.youtube.com/intl/de/yt/about/. You can find YouTube’s privacy policy as a part of Google’s privacy policy at www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

4.3. E-mail Communication

If you send us an e-mail, the personal data you provide will be processed by us. This information is transmitted by your e-mail client and stored in our information technology systems. Processing this personal data is necessary to respond to your enquiry. In addition, we are storing your IP address and the date and time you contacted us.
Data processing serves to respond to your enquiry and to guarantee the security of our information technology systems. Such processing is legitimate according to § 6 paras. 3 and 4 DSG-EKD, because answering your enquiry serves to fulfil our tasks and, at the same time, represents a church interest.
Personal data will be stored for as long as is necessary to answer your enquiry. Should your enquiry lead to the conclusion of a contract at a later date, the data will be stored for as long as this is necessary to carry out pre-contractual measures or to execute the contract. We do not merge this personal data with other data sources. Data will not be passed on to third parties. Transfer to a third country or to an international organisation is not intended. While you are not obliged to provide this personal data, it is not possible to use the contact form or send an e-mail without providing such data.

5. Rights of Data Subjects

As a data subject, you are entitled to information in accordance with § 19 DSG-EKD, to have inaccurate personal data rectified in accordance with § 20 DSG-EKD, to deletion in accordance with § 21 DSG-EKD, to restrict processing in accordance with § 22 DSG-EKD and to data transferability in accordance with § 24 DSG-EKD. In addition, you have the right of appeal to a supervisory authority for data privacy (§ 46 DSG-EKD in conjunction with § 39 DSG-EKD):

In accordance with § 23 DSG-EKD, we notify all recipients to whom your personal data has been disclosed regarding any rectification or deletion thereof, or of any restriction on processing in accordance with §§ 20-22 DSG-EKD, unless such notification is impossible or involves disproportionate effort. We will inform you of the recipients if you so request.

8. Right of Objection

As defined in § 25 DSG-EKD you have the right to object at any time, and for reasons arising from your particular situation, to the processing of any of your personal data being processed on the basis of para. 6, items 1, 3, 4 or 8. If any personal data is processed for the purpose of direct marketing, you are entitled to object at any time to processing for such purposes. 9. Right of Revocation of Consent to Processing Personal Data

According to § 11 para. 3 DSG-EKD you have the right to revoke your consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of data processing carried out on the basis of your consent before such revocation was initiated. Consequently, any revocation always applies only to data planned to be processed after you have revoked your consent. You can revoke your consent informally. Once you have filed your revocation, we will no longer process your personal data unless this would be permitted on another (legal) basis. If, however, a consent has been revoked and no other basis for permission exists, the personal data must be deleted immediately at your request in accordance with § 21 para. 1, item 3 DSG-EKD.
